Any ball park figures for getting a knock sensor replaced?

Default Additional Question

I have a 2004 XJ8 4.2 and am still unclear as to the location of the knock sensors on my engine. Are they in fact under the intake or not? Any pictures that you can share?

My Technical Notes shows the location of the engine sensors, and there are two knock sensors, one seems to be located under the inlet manifold, and the other at the front of the engine, again in the V ,but its not wholly clear.

Do you need to replace them ?

Here is an engine controls locations illustration extracted from the JTIS manual - 2004 XJ Engine NA:

JTIS manual mentions removal of the intake manifold (including throttle body) to get to the LH knock sensor.

do you need to drain the coolant to remove the air plenum to see if the connection at the knock senor is loose?
