Default Navigation system question

I just took delivery of a 2005 XJ with Navigation system. I would like to find a User Manual that I can buy or download. So far I haven't been able to find one for that model.

Also, is there a way to dim the Nav screen at night. It is quite distracting due to it being so bright.

Thanks!

It should go to "night" mode when you turn on the main lights and the ambient light detector detects no sunlight. At least that is how I understand it. The night mode is a black background.

There is a setting that allows the nav screen to dim with headlight activation. It's somewhere in the convoluted menu system.

In the menu day/night/auto. The last one is coupled to the headlights being off or on.

Default Re Nav screen

Thanks for the help. I found the Menu section (and I agree it is convoluted) and made my settings. It seems to work now.

Hello GrahamPhotog

If you still need a 2005 X350 manual set you can get a fully indexed one here:
