A rather urgent plea for help guys. changing the pan and fluid in my 05 SV8. I thought I'd read correctly in the attached instructions, step 3. I squeezed the tab and the entire white piece of plastic slid down.

Now I'm not sure if it was supposed to slide down or I was just supposed to squeeze the little tab but it basically came down on its own.

In putting back the sleeve,I can't get the white piece to go back up. So I removed the sleeve and tried it, it wont go back up. What am I missing?

As an addendum, I bought the kit from CTSC. The sleeve it came with is cracked where the electrical connector attaches - also, there were only 5 torx screws in the kit. I damaged more then that removing the old ones. I'll go back to CTSC but they are slow to respond so I guess she'll be up on the lift for awhile. AGHHHHHHHHH

not sure what the problem was but I was able to push it back in place. I am reusing the old sleeve.

 

The white tab will not allow you to seat it without the sleeve being fully inserted. If no sleeve is inserted same issue. Use a finger's dab of vasoline on the rubber O-rings and a little on the circumference of the round hole that it inserts into before assembly.
