Default oil in intake

Help! My car seems to be pulling excess amounts of oil from from the vacum.
There is a great deal of oil in the breather tube that connect to the back of the throttle body. When accelerating hard a puff of smoke comes out the tailpipe. I have replaced all the vacum lines and cleaned MAF sensor.
Is that mushroomeee looking thing (i think it is a PCV valve) on the passenger side valve cover a possible culprit?

When I replaced my throttle body at 50k miles, I noticed the intake had a puddle of oil inside. I posted, like you, but got no response. I still don't know if it was oil, or the heavier components within the gasoline that condensed out over time...but my car does, and always has, run great.

Oh, I did replace my PCV valve, just for for grins.

Thanks John. I am hoping the PCV valve is the problem and not leakage from piston rings.
I am by the way an SMU boy......

If the rings were leaking that bad, the engine would be running very poorly. I've had my car since new, and it runs every bit as well today as it did 10 years ago.
