Default Open Loop with P1108 & P1646

Dear Forum,

Trying to be of help to a nearby owner and Forum Member here in Dubai (Jagnew, he has a 2004 XJ6 V6).

His car is stuck in Open Loop. Please see pic 1

He also has DTC's P1108 (MAP Sensor Circuit High Voltage) & P1646 (ECM Ho2 Sensor Control Malfunction - Bank 1 Upstream).

Below (pic 2) He seems (to me) to have excessively high Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure? (I may be wrong)??

Please, could someone point us in the right direction?

Thank you!

With those codes you may not be able to rely on some OBD readings.

Look to see whether there's anything in common to the circuits or start by fixing the O2 sensor causing P1646 and see if the other code continues or not.

Thank you for your posted help.

Please, how (physically) do I see if there is anything common to the circuits and then, how do I fix the O2 sensor which is causing P1646?

Not sure I believe some of those readings.

The vehicle is not supercharged is it?

Seems MAP sensor only on SC cars?

Result is about 28 psia which is high.

Suggest that you run the scanner on your own vehicle to compare readings.

The electrical guide shows wiring incl splices etc.

One option is just change the sensor causing P1646 as they wear out eventually anyway.

Thanks Meirion1, I'll try that.
No, normally aspirated V6. Reader is not showing MAP Sensor, is showing the Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure? Mine is around 50 kPa; his 200 kPa?
