Default Map sensor circuit malfunction dtc

For the next guy who has this issue,

I got a cel, and pulled a map sensor circuit malfunction code. The car ran fine, so it seemed, but I did notice a 20 percent decrease in fuel economy. l looked at the stored data in my obdii reader to see that the map sensor showed 27.2 inhg, with no change due to rpms.

I looked for the map sensor to no avail, but came across a detached vaccuum line to the rear of the engine. It was fixed with a small clamp. There are a few electrical switches attached to the firewall, one of which has a nipple for a vaccuum line. I hooked the line up, and checked the reader data again. The cel reset, and life is good. I guess the switch the vaccuum line hooked up to might be the map sensor. I don't know and don't care......

John, for future searches, can you post the actual DTC code you received? Glad it was an easy fix bud.

Hi
Your photo of MAP sensor looks like it is somewhere near and under the windshield wiper motor. Is the MAPS (Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor) only on the XJ Supercharger models?

I have been down this road recently and I think your photos are the Emissions Purge valve.

That Purge Valve has a vacuum line running to the Purge Solenoid that also connects to the Emissions Vapor hoses from the fuel tank cannisters and routes it to the intake.

My question is, how does a proper fuel injection system work without sensing the MAP unless it is phaked in the computer?

Default Map sensor

I don't think anyone is hitting on my point, I'm looking for the map sensor location on a 06 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden plas. This is really frustrating, I'm getting everything except 06 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden plas

The pictures you see in this forum (for X308 Jags) are not relevant to your X350 engine. On X350, the MAP sensor is bolted to the intake manifold, at the back of it.
