Mzny thanks for the PDF on the TB recall. South Africa ia not listed but I will write to Jaguar to see if they will replace the part. Our ambient is not as high as those countries but it could be worth a go.
My take on used TBs is that it is probably the TPS that caused them to be replaced in the first place so you are replacing bad with bad. We really need to source the TPS new.

Similar sensor
I found this sensor manufacturer and maybe they make the one for Jag or one that is similar and could drop in. I'm sure you'd have to buy in lots of at least 500. Perhaps one could make a nice little business out of this.
Throttle Position Sensor TOYOTA 89452-87114, SUZUKI/DENSO 198500-1121, SUBARU 22633-AA210 - Detailed info for Throttle Position Sensor TOYOTA 89452-87114, SUZUKI/DENSO 198500-1121, SUBARU 22633-AA210,Throttle Position Sensor,Throttle Position Sensor
With a little more searching or by contacting the Wengzhou Shengnuo people sensors could be had. I'm sure you'd have to calibrate it when replacing. My mechanic said it was a 1 to 5 volt signal to the ECU.

Well this finally happened to me, P2135, and all the error messages on the dash, 4x times this morning, in peak hour traffic, couldn't have come at a worse time...
Lucky I had my little code reader in the seat pocket, was able to clear the code & restart without too much drama, but in the middle of traffic...lots of four letter words...
I knew this day would eventually come, so I aready have 2x spare TPS' (used, not new unfortunately) so i'll try swapping one in & reflashing the ECU...
Fingers crossed....

Well that's a job I don't want to do again....
I was hoping to just swap the TPS, but you can't get to one of the 5-point Torx bolts while it's still in the car (hoses in the way) so I swapped the whole throttle body...
There's just no room to get in there...
Didn't take any pics, was too busy getting on with the job, but here you can see my old throttle body, compared to the complete replacement which I bought 2nd hand.
The dirty one is the one that came off my car...LOL
Hopefully the TPS in the replacment is OK, it looks to be much newer.
ECU reflash went without a hitch, started up OK and no codes, just about to go for a drive to see how it goes, wish me luck...

More on TPS
We replaced our throttle body on my wife's '05 XJ VDP as described in my earlier post. There have been no further episodes of limp mode. We are very happy about it.
I read the TS bulletin and can corroborate the symptoms. The first time my wife got limp mode was after sitting and chatting with the neighbor lady in her driveway with the A/C running. I got several episodes of limp mode on a long trip to Moab, UT, during June, 2012. It would clear after shutting down for a while (10 to 20 min). Utah is very hot in June.
The last straw for me was repeated episodes during a trip to Oklahoma in the fall of 2012. We had to leave the car overnight and call our son to collect us about midnight and about 1 hr from his home. We returned for the car and drove it back to Ponca City, OK, where we had lived and knew a great mechanic. Oklahoma is a hot place. The early fall morning was cool enough and the drive was short enough that the car made it without limping. I had a new and genuine Jag throttle body shipped from CA to OK for about $450 and Jerry put it in for about $250. No trouble after about 1.5 years.
USA was not listed among the countries in the TSB. It certainly gets hot here in the summer and under my hood enough to make a Denso petentiometer fail. I think the double signal derives from the resistances read from both sides of the wiper inside the pot to the terminals which are complimentary in value. If a crack develops in the resistance film and the continuity across it is sensitive to temperature, the values will not sum correctly when hot. The condition would cause the computer to signal a fault and default to limp mode. The coding in the ECM sends several messages that seem unrelated like DCS system unavailable and parking brake problems to the display. P2135 gets stored in memory.
I'm so glad this nightmare seems solved. Now I'm tending to a ZF 6HP26 connector leak. I'll say that the British parts have performed well. I've only been left stranded by the Japanese TP Sensor and German transmission. I had a radiator fail. It was replaced free under warranty. I don't know the country of origin of it. I would guess somewhere in Asia. It has been a great car to own. I want a new one now. They're more powerful and even better looking.

I was visit a friend today with an XK8 that's been having TPS issues, quite by chance I was looking on ebay for a TPS to suit the XK8 (it's a different Denso part number, 198500-3250) but guess what I found
New Jaguar 02 04 x Type Denso Throttle Position Sensor 198500 3300 | eBay
YES! It seems someone has finally got some aftermarket sensors made up!
We need to spread the word on this one. (I am not related to the seller in any way)
