Radio amp only works for front speakers
i think my amp is bad and want to replace it. It only plays sound in the front speakers, There is nothing coming out the back. If i put in one from another car, would it have to be reprogrammed?? and does it have to be for a car with Nav??
Thank you for your help as always.

By front speakers so you mean front door speakers? If so you can disconnect a known good one and test the rear door speakers etc. these speakers are well known to have the speaker soldering come apart. Mine did.
If that's the case you can grab some speaker wire and rig it to work. If a known speaker does not work then it's an amplifier issue. You can give it the smell test if it's blown. The amplifier is easy to remove and they are all plug and play as long as they have the fiber optic connector. My amp blew from leaking water, picked one up on eBay for $100.
Hope this helps.

The DPS sceen comes up and shows all the different speakers and if i put it on rear, there is NO sound. if i go to the window that shows the fader and fade it to the rear speakers, there is no sound. on the front speakers work
That answers that question then ;-)
However I did read here that the solder on speakers over a period of time come loose and need a touchup to work again. There is a thread here:
