Default rear seat multimedia?

Got my new 04 xjr a few days ago, it has the tv's in the headrest, but I can only get the video to show up on the driver side screen. The back light turns on, on the passenger side, but I can't see the picture. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else have this problem? Let me know. Thanks

Pretty sure both should show the same thing.

I have a similar problem where any video source will only display on the passenger side monitor (US left hand drive car). The only additional symptom is when selecting the non-working left side video using the multimedia switchpack it is impossible to change the source (DVD, AUX1 etc), the buttons do nothing.

I have not had a chance to really try to diagnose the problem. The monitor had been working recently so it seems to me its likely one of the electronic modules in the trunk or somewhere in the millions of miles of cables.

My DVD player is shot and since I have had no luck finding a replacement I have not bothered to look into it much. I do plan to get it resolved at some point and will post any findings.

Disconnect the battery for five (5) MIN and then re-connect the battery both sides should work. I had the same problem and it work for me. I have a 05 XJR w/DVD

I have no idea what I did, but I got both screens working. It's frustrating because it does seem difficult to use, I got both screens working, had the sound playing through then I could not get the sound to stop. I had had it shut off, but the sound was still playing through the speakers...weird

Default Rear seat multimedia

Go go to the Nav Screen and push the menu button and push rear media and it should say earphones only, cabin or system off try that also make sure you push both buttons on the switchpack to turn the DVD player off. I hope this helps you.

You could hire my 16 yo son. He's the only one in my family who can make the pictures and sound come out where he wants, when he wants, and from the source desired. I'm jealous, but than he's a level gazillion something in WOW.

I think you're required to have a secret agent degree to work the entertainment system. I warn everybody when they get in the back not to touch the cool looking buttons because every time something gets screwed up and my 2 year old girl freaks out and I have to pull over and get in the back seat and try to figure out how to fix it.

Rear multimedia system settings:

The XJ driver or front seat passenger can inhibit the Rear Multimedia System Controls using the touch screen as follows:

Press the MENU button, followed by the Rear Multimedia button on the touchscreen, then select one of three options:

1. On - The rear switch pack is fully enabled allowing control of cabin speakers and headphones.

2. Headphone Only - The rear switch pack control of cabin speakers is
inhibited. Control using headphones is still available.

3. Off - This fully inhibits the rear switch pack controls.

Note: When the Telephone or JaguarVoice are being used these buttons
will be disabled.
