For reference here is the factory suggested tool Stamped Made in the UK by OTC. As always this tool is in the tool loan program and Foundation patrons and JCNA members may loan the tool. Best of luck.

Many thanks, Coventry Foundation!

Do you have a presence in the PNW of the U.S.(Seattle)?

I think the Amazon one will work. I'll dink with the measurements &, assuming I don't find something in my toolbox or at Harbor Freight that will work, I will order it. If necessary, I can modify the base.

The Foundation has 2 tool loan sites. One in the east and one in the west (CA). JCNA has a good club in your town. Look under www.JCNA.com

Steve,

I used the type you have shown to eventually successfully remove my X350 wipers.
Can be a bit hard to span to the centre of the drive shaft though, and I will add that I felt I needed to hold it in place to stop it walking.

They can be on there really tight and I did put some penetrating spray on beforehand. Honestly thought that puller was going to let go before it managed to pop the wiper.

When I had to remove my wiper arms, I just used a tie rod end puller (pitman arm puller). The nice part is you can really crank it down since it's designed for much more difficult to remove tie rod ends. You can probably loan one from your local auto parts store.

I had one in my tool box that was adjstable in all directions & had the bottom of the wiper arm been flat and not curved, it would have worked. I am going to put some PT Blaster on them & try again. I will go by the parts house and look at the pitman, etc.

BTW, I was a member of the JCNA until 2007. Had forgotten all about it, but it was a very nice experience. Will contemplate rejoining.

Thanks for all of the help!

I've never found that type particularly effective and often there isn't sufficient clearance to use it.

After a long search a few years ago, I found this at a tool specialist and it's never failed.

Exactly the same one is now available on Amazon under various different brand names.

TA - DA!
It arrived!

It worked!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
At first, had I not had the sage advice of this august body, I would not have thought it would work. From my experience, the jaws had to be tightened as firmly as possible by hand; then, the proverbial piece of cake!
