Default Tail Light trim- Black Trim

Is there a cheaper alternative to remove the chrome on the Tail light trim?

Below is a link were they have an OEM black trim. Did these ever come like this from the factory?

I like the look of the black trim, any advice welcome

I have to admit the carbon fiber wrap looks pretty good, but I've never understood why people want to remove brightwork (or even interior wood) from a Jaguar. It's a Jaguar! It's supposed have chrome and wood.

Evan Trinh,

That looks very nice. Any carbon fiber skin will do? I will look in to doing this.

XJ8JR,
I don't dislike the chrome, To me a dark trim around the tail lights look best.

There are many companies who make the wrap. I go with the extra gloss to come real close to what real carbon looks like. All you need is a razor and a heat gun for the process. The material has play and you will be able to stretch it with a lil heat.

I have a bit left of the wrap I used if your in need

My car is a Sport so came with black trim around the rear lights, and also the windows. I managed to damage one of the trims around the rear lights whilst trying to fix it properly into the aperture, so purchased a set of chrome trims from Adamesh. I don't think you can get the black trims separately, you have to buy a new light unit. Stupid, I know !

Awesome, thanks.. If you still have some enough to cover the tail light trim, that would be great.

Send me a PM, and I can pay for postage and for the trim.

Thanks

The early non-sport models were chrome trim and later porfolio

Sport models had black trim

X358 (excluding portfolio) had red trim
