A total loss
My 2004 XJ-8 was totaled late last week when a Dodge RAM pulled out of a small driveway and hit the passenger front of my XJ-8 when driver failed to yield right of way causing the airbag to pop.
It was towed to Bee Line towing in Lynchburg, VA and may still be behind their fences. If I can find which salvage or pick and pull yard it may be at or will be at, it will be noted on this forum.
I'm window shopping for a 2004-2009 XJ-8, well appointed, no accidents reported, unicorn mileage of 80K miles or less and no sun damage. I alway kept the XJ-8 in a garage and I would hope to find the same. (Please)
Anyway, feel free to send me a PM if anyone finds my next baby to pamper. Thanks to all of you on this site.

I think there's a zircon blue '06 XJ8 at a joint in Waynesboro. Was last time I did a similar search. there are a few others up as far as Front Royal or Winchester and one over in C'Ville. I keep looking for an '08 or '09.

Not exactly what you are looking for due to miles, however the car has been highly maintained. I can go over basically everything on the car of what has been done. Don't mind the price in the first post for sale ad.

I saw an '09 with roughly 50k miles Hemmings yesterday. Black on Black, SWB. tried to send a PM as requested but having trouble with that system. can't find the listing now, but might be worth running to ground. found it, though not Hemmings:https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...NWIDE_SHIPPING

Thanks for checking in. It hurts, but I am probably not going to love another XJ-8. I am at the age where time under the hood or under the chassis take a toll on my body.
Parts are becoming harder to locate and though I have replaced every hose in the engine bay except the dreaded 'valley hose(s)' the snakepit is alway in a dark corner of my mind.
Speaking of the hoses, I posted some time ago about the constant tension OEM type clamps vs. the screw clamps, I still advise to use the spring clamps but do not use the brassy looking POS found on Amazon or a similar eBay set, both made in China. The cheapos will expand with heat but not fully contract after several hot/cold cycles. I found two coolant leaks that were due to those crappy clamps.
Good, heavier steel spring clamps are the way to go and I apologize for my erronoeous information. In the cases of my two leaks I went to an O'Reilly's and got two black anodized steel clamps and all was good.
So, I'm going to take my time and probably use my Wrangler and my wife's Cherokee for the winter. I have nowned two XJ-8s...a 2002 X308 and the 2004 X350.
My chest has a small fracture in the sternum and it hurts like hell. Time will tell if I get the XJ-8 bug yet again or not scratch that itch.
Thanks to all of you that I have "met" over the last 10 years. It's been a blast!
