Traction control and asc displaying not available on jaguar aj8 4.0 2001

Hi just lately i have noticed when ever i go to start car it displays t.c and asc not available.this displays every time i go to start it.no issues with engine apart from when ever i go to start it dont all ways start .i have to stop then try again and press gas pedal then it fires up.so any ideas what could be stopping the t.c and asc from working.abs is fine.

#1 suspect: the battery.
