Default Help - can't find Trailer hitch for xj8 (need a bike rack)

HI
2004 XJ8, don't want to risk marring paint with a portable trunk-mount bike rack. Prefer a receiver hitch even though it will look ugly.
Does anyone make a receiver hitch for an XJ8?? I can't find one.

Thanks.

I checked into a hitch from U-Haul in March 2019 for my 2006 VDP and was invited to bring my car to Phoenix AZ for 3 days and they would engineer one for that model at no charge as there was nothing available.
Its hard to trust some one with my Cat,

Why would you want a bicycle? Is this in case your Jag breaks down?

Default Keep it nice, please

HI
I've been looking for a way to carry bikes on my Jag as well. One bike could fit in the trunk, but I have a family, and have to use my truck for our summer vacations just to be able to carry 3 bikes for our time in the woods of Lake Tahoe. Would much rather be driving my Jag all that time.

I think I am giving up on any kind of rear hitch-mount, and have to try the roof rack and try not to scratch my paint. I figure that people have valid reasons for asking questions on the Forum, and try to help with answers when I can.

That makes more sense, on top standing on tires, fastened in a rack.
No wind resistance, or wheels turning, like in the rear carriers that many vacationers seem to use.

The answer to your question is no. They were available in the beginning of the platform production, have been long gone for some time. Do the guy's at Uhaul know that they would be working with an aluminum monocoque chassis. I don't think that anyone at uhaul has the experience to take on that task. Even seasoned forum members here won't go down that rabbit hole, and they know more about this platform worldwide than anyone. If you search the forums, you will find that that the trailer receiver has been a no-go for all of us. Sorry.
