My 05 VDP has developed a whine whine driving, not from engine. Is this an indication of low transmission fluid? 120k

 

Is the AC on? If it is turn it off and see if the whine stops. My XJR whines and for ages I thought it was the power steering but one day I turned the AC off and after a few seconds it stopped, AC back on and whine back. I suspect the AC pump but as the ac has stopped working Ive not looked into it yet. It seems the AC pump is a bit of an **** to get out.

 

How old is the trans fluid/

 

Fluid is probably less than 2k old. Trans drips slightly even after two pan replacements and wiring connector also replaced.

 

Sounds like it could be the O'ring that's on the sleeve.
Around the wires going to the trans, that might be leaking

 

As JoeDredd asked, have you turned the climate system off while driving and noticed a change in the whine? I had a whine in my car too and thought it was a trans issue. I turned the climate off and the whine stopped. I got the AC vacuumed and filled and no more whine.
