Default Transmission surge

Hi Guys, it appears I am getting the transmission surge where the rpm keeps fluctuating up and down by 100 rpm. I’ve noticed the last couple of days it has been a bit colder and it hasn’t happened. Is this typical for other cars who suffer with it or could it potentially be something else?

I can't say I ever noticed cold reducing this hunting syndrome, but in the UK it doesn't get REALLY cold. Which Paulton are you living in ?

I am just south of Bristol, wasn’t sure if the transmission fluid was thicker in the cold and that was helping the situation

This is a known issue with the S-Types with the same trans, TSB S307-14

Most just live with it rather than replace the TC (costly).
