I emptied about 7-800mL of water out of the dehumidifier (cheap Peltier type) I have in the car. It normally doesn't have much but we've had quite bit of rain in the last few days so it must be getting in somewhere

 

Be mindful, that when the saloon is still, the outside is still open to the inside through the Heat-A/C system. The default is open to the atmosphere. Only in recirculation does it close off the outer door.

 

One of the brand new VVT seals is somehow leaking again...Another item to add to my fix-it list

 

Also check two other things. One, oil level. It has been reported that slight overfill can see this. And two, PVC.

I had the car to the dealer for the "all idiot lights on problem" and they didn't have any real progress to report except my 1 year old interstate battery( usual factory spec for jag in the US) was only holding 12.44 volts and that jags are sensitive to voltage( at least my 2004 xjr) and that might be part of the problem. I guess it should be 12.5V?

Took back to parts store as jag wanted $75 to install, plus much more to replace the " 1 year new" battery on a prorate. Will see how that holds up. Skips Auto in Seaside, Ca replaced no problem with receipt.

Noticing more frequent "cats system error" and will check sources for Arnott and see if in my old original car, that they warranty the solenoids as I have heard they go bad.

Bought dry silicon lube for rear sunscreen I yanked up and managed to get working...can't see how to spray the lube without hitting the screen...another day..

 

Today I installed an oil catch can with temporary hoses to the full load breather.

There was clearly visible oil inside the Norma connector going into the full load breather when I pulled it off. Enough to form at least one drip.

Hopefully it will help at least slow down the oil/carbon build up in the intercoolers which were absolutely filthy and clogged when I pulled them off
doing my supercharger swap about 1200 miles ago.

Will look at the part load breather another day. If I see oil there as well I will add another oil catch can however I am not expecting to see much if any oil there.

 

I'm interested to see how much oil you actually collect.

 

Well drove mine this evening for the first time in weeks, after driving 'lesser' vehicles, makes you appreciate the Jag more.

 

That's happened to me many times. After a day or two driving the "lesser" car, I think to myself "Well, this isn't too bad after all, maybe..."...then I get behind the wheel of the Jag again and I say "Nevermind"

 

installed air compressor(the rebuild kit didn't work for me) , installed driver side front shock,… Car came right up fully inflated all four sides that had previously been on the deck… Hooray bank pop… Had a party in my head when that happened… Still trying to chase the mystery coolant leak… (Driving me crazy)

Last night I straightened one of my tailpipes which had gone crooked somehow.

 

Will give an update in a week or so. Very busy with my truck and vertigo not helping!

 

Thanks for the buffer idea. But I'm going to find a non-abrasive glaze first to see if it covers up the minor issues, without being abrasive.

 

Today I got to do the shakedown on the mockup in the listening room of the audio components. Amplifier after mods performed breathtakingly. A listen to Fourplay's X or The Wailin' Jennys Bright Morning Stars was impressive. Now just waiting on the final few items and we can start installation.

 

Last night, the engine started missing and I got a P0133 code - O2 Sensor Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1, but no Check Engine Light or Restricted Performance. So I drove back into my office building garage, shut down and restarted. Now I got Cylinder 5 Misfire, along with the CEL and Restricted Performance. So I pulled the coil pack and the spark plug and everything looked fine. So while the engine was running, I unplugged the cylinder 5 pack and there was no change in the engine tone. I then unplugged an additional pack and the engine bogged down.

Unfortunately, I had no choice but to drive home on 7 cylinders. I got a new ignition coil from Oreillys, put it in and all is well again.

 

While I am waiting for my supercharger to come back from PSE, they found a dud bearing, I installed the upgraded IC pump in its proper location and installed a new aux pump.

I originally and mistakenly replaced the aux pump with the upgraded pump.

While I had the bumper off I upgraded the fog/spot lights to LED bulbs.

Next step is to reinstall the super charger when I get it. I am also going to wire my two 6" fans on the additional IC radiator to come on when the ignition is on at least for the Summer.

I was somewhat concerned with the hits the oil cooler has taken thru the lower bumper opening so I installed a black wire mesh on the inside of the
opening.

The errant white Zip tie I did not see until I took the pic. Its gone now.

Still WIP as I need to check the IC pump after I install the SC.

 

I had to have a new rear ABS wheel sensor fitted today, as yesterday I got a brake fault displayed and message "DSC not available". Mechanic swapped the rear sensors over left to right and the fault moved over too. Price was an eye-watering £98, as it wasn't possible to get an aftermarket sensor because I am going on holiday with the car tomorrow.
