What did you do to your X350/X358 today?

Went to the supermarket for some bits and bobs only to come back and find a shopping trolley right up against the passenger side (UK left side) and found this, initially thought it was just a small scratch but NO, further inspection when I got home was a small dent....
Probably done by some knuckle dragging thick as a plank heathen with no self respect and an IQ that barley registers any brain activity...
The thing is as a rule I always park at end or the larger family spaces as was in this case, even after all this care, it's still a smallish dent but still gutted. waiting on a dent devil inspection ..

Busy Day
I cut the decal from carbon fiber vinyl and the paint is 2 coats of adhesion promotor applied to sandblasted parts with 3 base coats of Metallic Rose Gold topped with 3 coats of Dupli-color Metal Cast Red. I applied the decals next and then covered it all with 4 coats of Dupli-color Wheel Gloss Clear Coat.

Screen Shot of my Android App, Torque Pro, OBD Interface. Center row, next to last gauge... I finally hit 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds. I've also weighed the car and dialed in the vehicle profile and according to this, top row 2nd gauge, I'm getting around 386ftlb of torque to the asphalt. 2d gauge bottom row estimates about 260hp to the road.
A LOT OF GOOD INFO. got my intake temp down, it was 71°ambient air temp. This was before I replaced the fuel pressure sensor, that's why it's showing over 70psi...
After a trip to the salvage yard yesterday I was able to stock 4 spare coils, 4 fuel injectors, MAF Sensor, Fuel Pressure Sensor, Air Temp Module, Knock Sensor, PCV, EGR Valve, and a hand full of T10 Bulb Sockets and managed to get out for a twenty dollar bill...
I needed the Fuel Pressure Sensor since I broke off the vacuum fitting two days ago...
So today I got the sensor installed and got rid of the check engine light. Then I hooked up my OBD Module & Torque App and went an ran her through the paces, an she wanted to roll today! I'll post a screen shot, but I actually hit 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and I've got my intake air temp down to within 5° of the ambient air temp.
Lastly, my engine dress up is coming along nicely. I installed a led light on the hood, I had zero light in the engine bay. I also finished cutting and installing the carbon fiber Jaguar decals on the coil covers, and the intake faring, and finished painting the front end faring and went ahead an cut an installed some carbon fiber vendor decals.
**Tomorrow, install the engine fairings, finish installing the driver's side spark plugs, and then give her a bath...

Front hubs
Wife has been using my Jag for a daily driver since her Honda went to the knackers, but she's out of town on business so I got the car on the lift to install the left side hub. I thought the location for the ABS connector (behind the fender liner) was the biggest pain in the *** for this job, but that was because I hadn't gotten to the hammer and punch portion of the project. Getting the old hub out was as cranky as one might expect at 130K miles, but now that I have it down, I'm sure I can do the right side in half the time. It sure feels more surefooted on the road after having done the worse of the two.

After a long time researching the best way forward and visiting three different specialist shops, picked her up from a front end repair - new upper and lower (curved) control arms. The mechanic said it didn't look like it needed aligning. Any thoughts on this?
Now looking for some new rubber for the front.
Regards,
Jon

Shocked and surprised to say the least.
I have been respraying my wheels to get rid of curb rash and I noticed that the ball joint in one upper control arm was damaged. So have been figuring out
how to replace the arm and I noticed the "covering" over the air shock.
After researching I found that it is an Arnott replacement!!!! The code A2396 on it comes up as Arnott. What is more it looks like a "comfort" model!
I have been extremely pleased with how my car handles.
How come I was able to adjust the height settings on this thing with my JLR SDD software?

Saying goodbye to "cabin fever" with some Jaguar repair therapy
It never fails. Spring finally arrives with warmer temperatures and us car guys are magnetically drawn to our machines by some weird force. Sometimes it's that upgrade you've been dreaming of doing, or a real maintenance issue happens to appear, but whatever the case may be, somehow the thrill of the chase, triumph over adversity, and hopefully, a (better) running vehicle, and personal satisfaction at projects' end prevail. Such has been the case with my lil Xjr lately. Went into the valley of supercharged hell to do the coolant hose. That went so well I decided to get new front tires, did outer tie rod ends, an alignment, and new front brake pads. Then, since I was on a roll I, installed one gently used driveshaft and while I had the plastic shields off, I finally got a chance to put that fuel filter in thats been floating around in my car for 5 months. See what I mean? 🙂

The alignment is an important factor in the way a vehicle handles.
It seemed pretty simple to me after seeing Tenhuzen Automotive's, alignment setup.
That i should, be able to get it aligned myself, about the same price, as one alignment.
Like many tools, they pay for themselves, after the first time or two, that you use them.
By careful measurements, & the steering wheel position.
My adjustments, seemed pretty close to me.
The steering wheel, finally setting straight.
Car tracks well, in curves as well as straight.
I am willing to wait to see how both cars wear their new tires.
So far things look & feel fine, with no odd tread wear.
With a several thousand miles, now both cars.
Both cars got tires soon after buying them.
