Joeleerj, I'm with you. When you buttress a plastic part with a stainless rib and epoxy bonder, the result is stronger than the OEM, so I'd prefer it. If any improvement were requested, a spray of matte black would finish it off.

It's many times stronger than OEM, and as far as the looks, (it's like many of our first girlfriends), it doesn't matter what she looks like as long as she performs satisfactorily.

 

The "P" button was fitted to cars with both front and rear parking sensors and switches the parking sensors on and off.

We have met at Wray car show a few times. I have a blue daimler super 8. I wonder if I could talk to you about some upgrades I'd like to do?

 

I went to install the one I purchased originally last week and low and behold the metal strap that mounts the mirror assembly was missing. (Should've looked closer at the pics on the auction)

The seller was a douchebag and wouldn't accept the return. Karma's a bitch!

Anyways, sourced another and installed today. Love it.

No need to calibrate after switching the zone to 11.

Lines up perfectly with the GPS compass.

So now playing around with these assemblies I noticed once removed they are not as sturdy and shake going down the road. A fix is to take a wood shim and cut the end round and jam it between the assembly and mount.

Now it is rock solid! No shaking while underway...

 

Like the compass in the mirror, better than in the view screen.
So i stuck a compass with a suction cup onto the windshield.
Reading it is much easier, than the one in the view screen.

Less expensive than another mirror, & it works well.

 

I liked the Jag compass mirror so much I went ahead and added one to my 2013 Range Rover Sport.

Waaay more involved. I had to take out the guts from a compass mirror and place them inside my existing casing with the new compass mirror.

A bit of soldering was involved as well.

It is also a little loose so will use your wood wedge idea abonano.

just had a big one finished off today. front upper arms , rear upper and lowers , rear end links and tie rods. she drives and feels like new. when I had new tires donw I had a chance to really push and pull on things underneath .. and all the bushings and balljoints were torn up , and knocking about. at 126k miles , she really needed it. next is tracking down a rumble I feel through the floor at around 50mpn and 70mph... could be driveshaft bearing , or rear diff. the car keeps reminding me its worth it though....

 

Old seal looks good so the phrase "if it ain't broke don't fix it" crossed my mind. However with the trans out might as well at 108,000 miles.

New seal in place. Not that easy to knock in without the proper tool!

Used this with a claw hammer as a sliding impact puller to get the old seal out.

 

Could possibly be a worn out transmission mount.

 

Replaced both mounts today. The right mount sprung a leak. Not a bad job, just had to make sure the engine was lifted high enough for clearance. I couldn't get the bolt off the right mount, because the stud separated fron the bottom of the mount and would just spin, so I had to cut it off using my reciprocating saw.
