Removing & disconnecting are two different things.
As long as we do not disconnect the lines, things can be moved a bit.
I also plan to just change the motor, from what i ordered.
But with the whole unit, i can see, just what has to be moved & how far.
If the price was not such a factor, i would replace it with new.
Even if i pulled the motor, to save the work, only have to do it once.

This is a opportunity for a "Thanks to clubairth1 " . I just finished a wiper motor fix using his instructions. If you just have a "wiper park" problem it should be a wiper motor issue, not the transmission. And like clubairth1 the remanufactured wiper motor I ordered from Cardone was not working all functions " intermittent function did not work". So instead of waiting for the replacement , I decided to try Muddybear's motor park fix. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...solved-119272/. Now I have a fully functional wiper motor. When I opened the park switch segment I found contaminated grease on the contact plate. Grease in itself is not conductive but dirt can be. So if you have the time and patience you should be able to fix this issue for free. Another Thanks to clubairth1 and Muddybear.

Thanks to you both, will try to fix the motor when its out of the car.
May take the replacement motor apart to service it, before i take the old one out.
Which will be then be repaired, then put on the shelf, with the other spare & rebuilt parts.

Default 2005 Vanden Plas Wiper Pivot arm removal tool

Hello everyone;
I'm in the process of removing my intake, and one of the steps is removing the Cowl Vent Screen and the Wiper Arms. The FSM say to use this special Wiper Pivot Arm removal tool. It looks like a small 2-arm gear puller. Does anyone know where I can get this tool or some other way to remove the wiper arms? See below for the picture.

Most auto parts stores have a similar puller for sale.
Mine either cane from O'Rileys, or Auto Zone.
Harbor Freight may even have them

Default 2003 xj8 with 328000km same wiper problem

Hi even after changing the batterie no improvement on the wiper problem . Due to light flickering on the rigth side also checked the ground connections . Still , so I put some RAIN X onto the windshield to not be bothered by it too much . This works fine but only from aprox.50 km/h on but does not solve the problem. So next step is the relays.
Thank you all

Thanks all: I went a picked up a similar tool from Auto-Zone. It failed, the arms on the tool bent. Some other guys posted; "Vigorously shaking and a couple of taps with a small hammer" Yeah it worked..
