So the cat is 13 yrs old. Had a leaky front air shock. Replaced and all is well. Unplugged the battery while replacing- as many recommend.
Now 300 miles later car rides perfect, but its time for inspection and there are two monitors not reporting.
1. secondary air system.
2. oxygen sensor monitor.
all others are fine. what I cant figure out is these are not listed by jag as part of the 7 monitors in my car- those 7 are fine and reporting. because of that I cant figure any info about the drive cycle for those. any info would be appreciated.
I think you're looking at earlier docs. Look for Jaguar Denso ones.
I think they're in the large file area / the net generally.
not being lazy but I can't find anything more. I looked through the shop manual for x350 and I really don't find a cycle for those monitors- secondary air, and oxygen sensor (not the heater circuit that one is closed). Any info is appreciated if you have a link. thx
Maybe the shop manual you have is before those items were added.
its possible. I'm trying to avoid the dealer. I will look at more recent xj just in case...do you have any ideas how to close these? I just need 1 more to report
According to the 2006 XJ Technical Guide there is a secondary air injection system as part of the emission controls. You maybe able to trouble shoot it from the attached.
Sometimes the emissions systems take a long time to clear.
How far down do you let the fuel level drop?
Keeping it too full can be an issue, or so i've read.

On this point keep your tank between 1/4 and no higher than 3/4 tank.
