Default 1995 XJ6 (X300) Fuel Filter - Threaded or Quickfit Connectors?

Searched the X300 Forum but could not find the definite information.

1. 1995 XJ6. Can somebody please confirm if the Fuel Filter has threaded connectors or quickfit connectors? (Saves me having to remove the wheel to find out.) Thank you.

2. Is the Fuel Filter at the front wheel arch Driver's side?

Thank you very much.

Threaded.

The filter is attached to the underbody roughly above, a just forward of, the left side drive axle.

Cheers
DD

If you struggle with the threads, I'm told a Ford Focus ST fuel filter fits the bracket nicely and has push-fit connectors.

Prefer threaded connectors. Quickfit connectors require a special tool ($10+) to remove the fittings.

Thanks for your input.

You will until the threads seize and you have to cut the fuel pipes to get the old filter out

And just how do you propose to attach a fuel filter requiring quick disconnect fittings to fuel lines with threaded fittings? A bigger hammer?

That would happen probably another 18 years later. Time to dump my wife's Old Faithful, or me first. I guess.

The threaded fittings get thrown away with the old fuel filter. If they came off, there wouldn't be a problem...

We replaced the missing fuel pipe with flexible tube.

No it doesn't leak.
