1996 Xj6 Dash lights stay on, constant drain.
So I've been experiencing an on and off electrical battle with my 96 xj6.
My wife does the majority of the driving in it and she says that even once the key is removed and the remote locks it up that the dash lights are staying on.
I've had to charge and or jump her car several times now. Any ideas where to start with this?
Is there a common light switch grounding issue with this model I should check first? Has this happened with anyone elses XJ that could chime in?
Cheers!

I had the same problem, but no one was able to help me out at the time, so I spliced one of the cables going from the light switch circuit board and installed another switch just for that cable. It worked fine for me so far, but seems that I'll have to sort it out as well at some point!
Terry's Jaguar has it for $90 MODULE-ILLUM CON - Terrys Jaguar Parts - LXF6490AA
Or you could go for a used one, should be a few on Ebay.

Got a new ICM to replace the old one. Now I just need to find where the old one is
Any good online references to where it is located so I can remove and replace?
Even a description of where it is would probably get me there and finished
Thanks all!

The Jaguar Electrical Guide has a section called 'FRONT MATTER' and it has a page with the location of ALL the control modules (LHD and RHD).

The ICM is behind the lower steering wheel cowl. Take off the driver's knee bolster and then the lower cowl. You'll see the ICM mounted to a bracket.
Thanks so much you guys!
Got it swapped out and a whole bunch of stuff started working again, lol.
One odd thing though is now there is a relay in the rear driver side kick panel that is buzzing like crazy. It is a 12v 30A relay located next to the fuse block. Indications on the top are 85 86 87 30.
I'll scour through the pdf I downloaded for the 1995 model and see what it says. Anyone else have this happen? Car seems to be running just fine now, except for buzzing relay.

If it's the blue relay that is part of the fuse box, that is the ignition positive relay. The others, mostly black and violet to the side control things like door locks, fuel flap and the puddle lamps.
