Default 1996 xj6 plastic fasteners

I recently added a 1996 xj6 to our household. Having a hard time finding the plastic fastener that holds the front mats in place as well as the plastic fasteners located near the radiator. These are quarter turn style. I have the male part, just need the female part. Any ideas on who may have old inventory.

Thanks,

Kyle

Kyle, are you talking about the ones up front that fix the plastic covers to the rad support? One goes around the washer bottle filler and the other covers the air cleaner housing, I think? 2 fasteners/cover? If so...add me to the list: I need the same thing...female...heard something falling one day when replacing the cover over the washer bottle neck....and of course never found it...they clip into slots in the rad support.

Somewhere here there is a thread showing the mat fasteners. I think there are two different types....the kind you gave me with the 95 VDP....(oops...probably shouldn't have reminded you of that, eh?) and another type. Don't know if they are interchangeable or not or if mated to a certain MY changeover.

Default Fasteners

Zane,
The fasteners you described are the ones. I just need the receptacle portion. As for the mat fasteners, the ones I gave you are gray and I need beige for this car.

The lower part for the plastic covers are $ 13.99 each from Overseas Motors and are special order. I will find another way to attach. Someone told me John's Cars has old stock. He is located near Fair Park in Dallas.

I plan on looking for something similar at the local auto parts stores.

I have searched online for after market products to no avail.

The saga continues.

Happy Thanksgiving

Kyle

Coventry West in Georgia has always been able to get them for me. Eventually I stopped buying them. If you look at 'em wrong they'll break :-)

I went to screws, washers, and "J" nuts to hold those covers on.

I replaced mine with lisence plate fasteners. They pop right in and are cheap.

For the front splash shield you can look at rockauto.com, put in your make and model and go to Body-exterior. you can find the splash sheild and clips there.

I was able to order the mat hold downs from Terry's Jaguar for $ 1.08 each and the other female parts for under the hood for $ 7.65/each. The actual color is called mink for the beige interior.

Thanks to all for the leads.
