95 xjr trunk fire
No way, you should have another look. Make sure your battery isn't getting really hot after you run your car for a bit. I don't think you found the cause, and that would concern me.

I have torn apart the whole rear of the car. The battery and fuse compartment area is clean an perfect, no sign of heat over there at all. No wires or anything electrical is damaged or really close enough to the burned area to be the source. I have been working on cars for 5 years and I have never seen anything like it. Just wanted to know if any of you have heard of this.
Any loose metal in the back, like a socket or a wrench or something that could've possible sparked as it hit some metal in the car going over a bump on the road? Does what I just said make any sense?
Oh OK, reading your first post gave me no indication as to your skill level. I think the vents you are referring to are for the fresh air extraction system, the cabin pressurizes with the climate control on and cabin air has to escape a closed-up car somewhere. Not the source of a flashpoint for sure.
Absolutely I have not heared of anything like that, and hopefully you will get some additional input. I would be busy playing XJR CSI.
