Hi Guys,

I just bought a 96 Jaguar XJ6, 140K+ miles, and am having a small problem with it.

The car shakes once ever 10-15 sec when stops, and I am not sure what the problem is.

And furthur more, the car engine stopped when I stepped on break yesterday in a shopping mall. Luckily, the car powered right up after 5 seconds later.

Can someone tell me what the problem might be? Thanks for your help in advance.

I used to have an Acura Integra that used to shake at stop. You need a tune up. Thecoils/spark plug/distributor cap needs to be replaced ASAP.

 

When doing your tune up I would look real hard for a Vacuum line that is cracked or fallen off. This can cause your motor to go crazy when the throttle shuts quickly.

.....and you might wanna check the engine mounts/bushings; was told that's the problem on mine, shakes too, but slightly. Haven't done it yet;- I assume its a big job replacing them?? Any experiences???
