Default Bilstein B4 vs. Sensen Bounce Test Video

Hello all! In case anyone is curious, I posted a short video on YouTube of me bounce testing a new Bistein B4 shock vs. a Sensen shock. Link
. (That's all I did, it's short).

BUT, I want to say, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I purchased this car after hearing all about how nice the ride was, but I found that when I hit our potholes here in the Detroit area, it felt like it was going to knock my teeth out it was hitting them so hard. I remember that the previous owner said one of the OEM shocks "froze up" and so he replaced all 4 with a cheap Sensen set. (Bummer, he threw them away so I couldn't rebuild them). I got tired of the harsh ride so I swapped some Bilstein's in (front only for now) and wow it is different, I can hit the same potholes now and it soaks them up so much better. So a warning to those who follow, YES, you get what you pay for with shocks.

my Daimler 6 had a seized front shock 7 years ago and my mechanic replaced them with Gas-a-Just (I think they’re called). They were terrible / same as your experience - crashing through potholes, felt like the dash was going to fall out.
I rang him after a few days, he retrieved the old ones from his rubbish skip, and we sent them off for a rebuild. Magic carpet.
i have also just had all 4 XJR shocks rebuilt this year, not cheap, but cheaper than buying new and paying for postage...and it keeps a local guy in work.

Glad you were able to get those rebuilt. The gas-a-just shocks are super popular, so far every single x300 I've seen in the salvage yard has got a set on them.

No, I think they are all original.
