Bypass valve vacuum actuator 1996 XJR
Any help would be greately appreciated. In Canada/US I cannot find this part anywhere.
I need something called "supercharge bypass actuator valve". It is also called, I think, "bypass valve vacuum actuator" or "vacuum bypass actuator", or some say - a wastegate.
It's a 1996 Jaguar JXR.
Does anyone have any idea of where I can dig this part up? I would be willing to order it from europe if need be. Many thanks.

AFAIK this item has been "NLA" from Jaguar for several years. I have a vague recollection of somebody opening one up and repairing it. I think it's just a simple vacuum/diaphram actuator...sorta like an over-sized vacuum advance unit.
Sorry I don't have any solid answers
I think someone here was parting out an XJR/6. Check the for sale/wanted section.
Cheers

Doug just beat me to it with his reply, confirming that this part is no longer available from Jaguar. If it is any help to you the actual part number that you are looking for is NDB7703AA. Your best option is probably a breakers yard.
If the actuator fails due to the diaphram leaking, then the spring in the actuator should cause the bypass to fail in the shut position. The engine can operate with the bypass like this but it will reduce the fuel economy by about 2mpg and increase the charge air temperature at part load.

Thanks. So far no luck.
Do you think there can be some "aftermarket" part that may fit, instead of the original?
Also, are there some online parts stores in the UK that I can check/call? I checked ebay.uk but there is nothing there.
