Default CD player question

I am parting out a 96XJ6 and have removed the amplifier and cd changer from the trunk. I would like to remove the cd cartridge but I need to apply 12 volts to a connection to do it. I just cut the cable going into the changer to remove it. Does anyone know what wire to connect?

From the wiring guide there is only one wire to the CD changer shown so I can't help you and I don't have one myself . But from the from the cut cable you can put a meter on the cut wires still connected to the car and see if you can find power . Then from the wire color go to the pigtail on the CD changer and put power on that color .

Thanks, Lady P. but I have removed a lot of parts already including the radio so there is no way to check for power. I guess I will put power to the different cut wires and see which one works, I just need to get the cartridge out.

How about this? Courtesy of Jacob Hankins a few days ago. Too bad you cut the plug off, the CD player only has about a six inch pigtail to this connector. Look for the pigtail behind the trunk panel. Open it up and it will show the wire colors, going to the +12V wires on pins 6 and 7, and the ground on pin 8.

Edit:

Just noticed that this second figure is in that same thread and shows a different pinout of the 8-pin DIN! It doesn't really make sense for the CD player. Let's see if Jacob can clear this up for us.
