Cooling fans not running
I was on my way to work and my cooling fans stopped running. The engine stayed cool when I was moving but started to heat up when stopped.
I checked the fuse for one of the fans and it was blown so I put a new one in and they still aren't working. Any ideas of why they still aren't working?

Ideas? Plenty. But no one can tell you why yours are not running. You need to trace the circuit with a test meter or test light.
Ideas?
1) One of the fans is locked up- Did the new fuse blow?
2) Are the fan relays in good shape?
3) Is the other fuse blown?
4) Is the fan temperature switch bad?
5) Is the engine warm enough to need cooling, or is the AC on?
If you have a meter and want to go at fixing it, plenty of us can help. If not, the list above is great for discussion.

More info on the car would help. I assume it's a Sedan X300.
Has the Single Pressure Switch – Service Modification as per TSB 14-06 been performed???
There are many TSBs for the cooling fans in the download area.
Understanding how they are wired will help diagnose.
I just replace 2 inop fans in 2 different 1996 XJ6 sedans this past week.
The fans DON'T like to JUMP to HIGH from OFF. The fuse will likely blow.

As Ross said...could be a multitude of things. I can tell you why mine quit running. It may help you find your problem. The a/c has a low pressure switch that turns the fans on low speed at a certain refrigerant pressure. The radiator has a switch that turns the fans on low at a certain coolant temperature. The a/c also has a different switch that turns the fans on "hi" above a certain refrigerant pressure. The radiator switch is a 2for1 affair that will turn the fans on high at some higher coolant temperature. If either the a/c or radiator switches attempt to turn the fans to "high" when they are not already running on "Low" then both 30A fuses will blow and neither fan will run on any speed. But how can this be? you say....the low pressure a/c switch is prone to failure - so much so that there was a TSB to bypass it and run the fans on low speed anytime the key is on. Your car may not yet have this...or it may. It is not at all uncommon for the a/c high pressure switch to get triggered for high-speed before the radiator switch gets hot enough to switch the fans to low. Presto! You've blown both fuses.
I'd start the troubleshooting by checking both fuses even though you just replaced one. If they are good, I'd look for that low=pressure switch on the a/c line and see if your car has the mod to make the fans run low with key on. Then report back and proceed apace with Ross' help.
Edit: I see Bob cut to the chase while I was typing gibberish.....
