Question Dealership diagnosis~Bad shift solenoids, Codes given, Help please!

Hey everyone I had problems with the transmission light coming on my x300 and being stuck in one gear(limp mode I assume). Before the light came on between 3rd and 4th gear it would slip out of gear then re-engage with a thud; then the trans light would come on and it would only drive in one gear.

*I got the printout from the dealer. The codes that they found after a scan were P0743,P0734,P0758(Shift solenoid second gear fault, torque converter control solenoid faul, and solenoid B ciruit fault. Found shift solenoids faulty, performed OHM check on shift solenoids and found solenoids have high resistance, causing fault codes to be flagged.
*The dealer says they are unable to get shift solenoids separate from valve body
and their estimate for a valve body is $6,500 !!!
They said they can replace the gear box which comes with a valve body for ~$3000

Anyone know if I would be able to get the shift solenoids separate from the valve body and then have them replaced? or if thats not possible where to find a rebuilt valve body for an x300? Or anywhere to find one for cheaper than dealership prices?

Any input very much appreciated.
Thanks everyone!!!!

For all three solenoids to have high resistance at the same time I would suspect a circuit fault common to all three solenoids. I have not looked at the circuit diagram yet but I would look at things like harness chaffing or broken wires before replacing a gearbox. I have replaced components only to find the same fault exists and after more diagnosis, a simple broken wire repair was the final fix!!! Live and learn!!

Yep- Bob is exactly right. No possible way three solenoids went bad a t once. Either a connector, or a wire jumper OR (quite possibly) a suspect diagnosis. In any case, be aware you can get a used X300 gearbox for less than $400. most anytime on craigslist or ebay. Any they just do not go bad very often so with some asking around, the most you should pay to get this going is much less than $1000. even out there, I would think. Aloha.

thanks a lot for the help everyone.
that is advice I needed. It makes sense to me what you both said because I just drove over 30 miles from the dealership with out having any problem in any gear & no check engine light or trans light came on. loose connection or something of the sort I would guess.

I'm guessing the next step for me would be to have a transmission shop look for what you guys mentioned? I wouldn't really know what to look for or where to look for it myself and would probably do more harm then good.
I am going to tell them to look for harness chafing, broken wires, connectors, and wire jumpers,
*If anyone wants to add to the list of what I should have them look for I would appreciate it very much
ALOHA!!!
