Hi everyone that loves Jags! My 97 xj6L is a great car. Can't beat the beautiful ride. Last few years I've had 2 door handles break and was fortunate to find someone who will fix it. Now, the left rear door handle broke and I can't find a black handle anywhere. There seems to be those with the chrome cover or some with different colors. So, first I would like to find a plain black one but then I was thinking I could also do any color and have it painted? I was wondering what some other Jag owners might be doing for this problem? Any suggestions are so appreciated. Thanks!!!

 

I had the left rear outside door handle break a couple years ago too. The metal lever broke off. I was lucky to find a pair of rear door handles in red with the chrome handles on Ebay. It is not fun to replace one of those, but it is doable yourself if you have small hands. Replace it with a different dark color if you have to, it can be painted any time once on the car. Otherwise, it is a real pain to live with a door that doesn't open.

 

"SLEEKJAG" thanks for responding! If it weren't for this forum it would be a very small Jag world where Im at. Having others to soundboard with is good. I will just find a handle and plan to have it painted.
