I won't be much help but sensing a bit of urgency I thought I'd offer a reply until someone better comes along

Enter P0727 into the search box at the top of the page. I know the subject has comes up previously. The code relates, I think, to an engine speed vs road speed discrepancy...or something like that. Perhaps to be expected if the idle is stuck a 2000 rpm?

Common faults causing a high idle are the idle air control valve (I think Jaguar uses a different name...my mind is drawing a blank) fault and/or a dirty throttle body.

Others will chime in

Cheers
DD

Had a similar problem with my 2000 S-type. Put a $25 can of BG-44K in the fuel tank. Car runs like new. Didn't really expect much but it really seems to have worked well.
