Default Exhaust/ Muffler

Ok, so I have the 96 XJ6 4.0L. I think there is a whole somewhere in the exhaust pipe. The mufflers on the duals on the back end of the car look clean. I have looked and I cannot find this hole on the exhaust. I dont know, it could be on the catalytic converter I guess? Not sure though. So, I was considering changing the exhaust out, and I am looking to get more of the European purr from the car. Is there an after market system I could use, and if so what one do you think would be best for it? I've noticed most the basic XJ6's sound kind of quiet I don't want the rice burner sound, and I dont want it super loud just want it to purr a little when I give it gas. . . I'll see if I can find a link to show you what I mean.

Thanks Gents!

I believe these X300 cars could get cracks in the exhaust manifold, and it was difficult to detect because there is a cover over it. Worth a look, maybe.

Oh ok, I didn't even think of that. I will check that out. Is there any way to patch that as a temporary fix if until I can replace the whole thing just to quiet the car down? Like would JB Weld do the job?

Yeah, I jaked the car up ran my hand over the muffler...looked at manifold. No idea, it's quiet, but when accelerating it's louder than I believe it's supposed to be. I'll have to have it looked at by a shop in thinking!?! I'll let everyone know what happens in the next week or so once I take it in.
