Default Front side indicator and one same side front indicator bulb remain on

Hi. My XJ6 has a problem. All of a sudden, the passenger's side indicator, and one of the bulbs in the passenger's front indicator are on permanently, even when the ignition is turned off. The only way to extinguish them is to disconnect the battery. The left turn indicator also blinks fast, as if there is a bulb out. I tried removing what I thought were the appropriate fuses, but only affected the indicators, and failed to extinguish the two afore mentioned lights. Also, how do I remove the side indicator in the guard to check the wires? All advice gratefully accepted.

Hi All. This morning, after a drive, all seems normal and working properly in the left turn indicator, side and front. So far it looks like my car has exercised its option to heal itself. Cheers.
