There really is no mystery. if you want to install the glovebox, you will need to cut out about half of one side of the airbag mount.

It would be nice to get a photo of an x300 with a glovebox (removed) to see how the airbag mount was redesigned.

Cutting is no problem if I can keep the airbag mount well supported. I better find the welding blankets.

(BTW, no progress yet. Too many other projects, and it's just too d@mn cold in the garage)
