Default Gold Grill Growler

I have a 95 VDP 4.0 6cyl . The growler on the top of my grill is "shiny gold"??? . Every other 95 to 97's are grayish. Also does anyone have front sway bar brackets for the bigger bar, I think it's 1", I need one. This car also has F& R factory sway bars. I've owned the car since 1997 & I don't believe the previous owner install the gold growler or bars.Just wondering.

Gold plating emblems and such was a popular thing back in the 1990s.
There was a lady that went around to dealers and car lots with a battery and a jar of dissolved gold.in solution.
She used an 'alligator-clip' and a probe on the battery with a small absorbent pad to apply the gold. (electroplating)

She did door handles, hubcap rings, side emblems, anything metal or chrome plated plastic.

The X305 came with a gold growler. It's quite a bit cheaper than black or black/chrome currently on JLRCP.

Now that's interesting,. I had a lot of questions from jaguar owners about it. I knew it was just plated & never used any type of wax or cleaner on it & It still looks new. Thanks for the info

As 944 play says, I think it was standard on the V12

Early build cars also had a gold growler, up to VIN 736838.

That's hilarious, because my car is both a V12 and an early build yet has a basic chrome growler. Not mad at it, though, I think mixing gold and crome is an aesthetic mistake at best.

I can relate about mixing "gold" with chrome. I have some antique phones & without getting into a lot of detail the old Western & Auto Electric Co's seem to do this.
