Default Headrest removal

How do you remove the headrest? I received some seat covers as a gift and they require this for proper fitment. Since I drive this car to work and I tend to get covered in sawdust it makes sense to have them, and the drivers seat outer bolster has a hole in it. I've not encountered motorized headrests on any other vehicle I've owned and don't want to force or break anything.

Haven't removed them either. Looks like you just yank it up out of there.

Yep, give 'em a sharp yank. I've got a seat thread in here somewhere that will show you what you are dealing with. From memory, it is just grooves cut into the headrest stems that pop into a plastic carrier.

Well it turns out I received the high back version if the covers, so they simply just went over the headrests. They are a nice grey "leather-like" material so they somewhat match, and will preserve the seats underneath until better care can be directed towards them!
