Default i have a crazy dilemah!! help would be appriciated

hello guys,

i have a blue 1996 jaguar xjr, and the other day i replaced the valve cover gasket with the rings for sparkplug holes, new spark plugs, and one new belt. i noticed that the supercharger belt was cracked to no end so i ordered a new one and went on with my day. the next day i was driving the car and it suddenly died and wouldnt start back up. so i towed it home that way i could check it out, i am a mechanic by trade so im very knowledgeable when it comes to cars, anyways. when i popped the hood i noticed the SC belt was gone and the idler pulley was gone. so i was lookin through everything to see what i could find and i found the SC belt tangled in the other belts, so i pulled the other belts out took out the bad SC belt, replaced the SC belt and idler pulley and put everything back together and now the car wont start. it cranks but will not turn over.

any help would be great, school started this week and i dont want to have to keep barrowing my grandmas truck.

ps. i am stumped as hell on what it could be :/

crazy:
You are actually in the forum for XJ8 XJRs. The X300 is the one you want. But, I would have a look down near the harmonic damper and see if you have damaged the wiring to the crank positon sensor.

Well, you are going to learn how to use an ohmmeter and avoltmeter with a schematic, or pay someone who already knows. Check back if you need help, but get the engine schemetics printed, get a good volt/ ohm meter, and a 12 volt test light first. You will find the schematics in the JTIS download, still on the FAQ, I believe.

Have you downloaded the JTIS data yet? With that and your DMM, plus a roll of tape and some splices and some luck you will be back in action!

glad you got it fixed, and feel free to stick around for some good companionship and share your ideas and opinions with others.
