Default Jacking points - hopefully not a stupid question

Noticed 2 of the bungs to cover the jacking points were missing so bought set of 4 used online. Just given them wash after doing dishes, but started wondering 2 things - how do I keep rubber in best condition, and anything I should do before inserting to protect from rust around these points?

Still too damned cold to do much with other issues - couple of minor bubbling paint patches but got primer, touch up paint and clearcoat for when I get around to those AND bought one of those wee rotary tools to clear off rust already present and sand down paint finish so i get immaculate results! Anyone used these things for prep for minor paint jobs?

Thanks

The Nibbster

Peanut butter will keep it looking shiney and a bit of waxoil will stop any rust.

Will probably go with the waxoil idea, but found peanut butter to be a very temporary fix previously on plastics - may be different on rubber though

Thanks

I'm sure you can use the waxoyl on the rubbers too.

try some Pinnacle Vinyl and rubber protectant on the rubber on the whole car around windows and other places where rubber will dry out. Use a good brush and cleaner before protectant though.
