Default Just bought a '96 XJ6 Need a little help

Hi guys, I just bought my first Jaguar....1996 XJ6 Kingfischer Blue. It runs and drives great, I just need a little help with some smaller things. First off, when I pressed teh valet button hidden in the center console, I must have screwed something up because I can no longer open my trunk? The key will not work manually either? I've taken off the license plate and anchors and have been putting a coat hanger up there, but I can't seem to find what I need to unlatch. Another issue I have is my sunroof is all messed up. The motor works fine, theres some serious mechanical issues up there though, I don't exactly know what's going on. It doesn't leak or anthing, and I could care less about the sunroof, so what would you guys recommend I do? A third and final question I have is hoow do you clean the rims on these cars if there pretty heavily corroded?
Thanks
Kyle

O and one more thing, what is supposed to go in that little cutout under the hood next to some fuses? Tools maybe? A special Kit?

affirmative, I regularly keep a philly cheese in there.

along with a fat handful of fuses pocketed from the boneyard, a shop rag, & my trusty multi-tool.

one of those luxury features :]

Cool

Haha sounds good! I figured I'd just throw a rag in there but I'll keep the sandwich warmer idea in mind.

there is a procedure for deactivating the valet function but I can't think of it off the top of my head. I know it's in the owners manual. If you can't find yours PM me I'll dig mine up and check for you.

Default Green key

With the valet button activated are you using the key with the green head or black? The black key should work in the trunk to open and the green is for the valet and will not open the trunk. Have you tried locking and unlocking all with the key fob?

Yea I fixed it...sorta. I had the black master key, but it turned out it was too worn down to open the trunk..it just didn;t fit right in the slot. When the previous owner finally found the extra master key they had that had barely ever been used, it opened it fine. Too bad they found it after I drilled a 3/4" hole in my trunk.....
