Tried to clean the wind shield last night coming home with my daughter. Hit lever for wipers. NO fluid appeared on the wind shield. Have nott check anything yet as I got this auto from my brother

You are in the wrong section, as this is for the X350/X358 generation from 2003-10.
Your generation is known as the X300.
However first thing I would ask is did you hear the washer motor trying?
If no, check fuse and if that is OK check for power and earth at the washer pump whilst someone operates the switch.
If power and earth present, swap pump.
If yes, check washer fluid present and that jets are not blocked.

You may have the optional headlight wash motor as a swapping option
