Offside mirror movers to end of travel when using remote unlock
Anyone run across this?
When I use the key fob to unlock the car the offside mirror moves to max down position and stays.
The mirrors on both side do not respond to the mirror control switch...which is a non issue for me since I am only one to drive the car.
I now have a spare mirror switch I may swap in. I have also run several used seat control modules in the car and none have changed this behavior.
Anyone run across this?
Where is the plug for the outside mirrors? in the housing or in the doors. I may just disable it.
Thanks in advance!!!

The mirror plug is just under the plastic triangle on the inside on that frd corner of the door and not the mirror parts . They pry off and unhook .It is fragile on the inner plastic hooks as it mounts . A good rubber glue may resecure .
Have you tryied a hard reset on the battery that will reset the SLCU and how it relates to the mirrors in your car entry processes ?

The mirror positions are stored in the memory, i.e. when you use the key fob, the driver's seat and mirrors are positioned at the settings stored in memory position 1 (as long as you don't have multiple fobs programmed). If you can reposition the mirror properly, try re-storing memory position 1.
Good chance the spare control unit will fix the mirror movement. But the above still applies!

I should also do some probing of the door switch since I have NO mirror control at all.
Only thing that does not work on the car!!!
If the feedback pots in the mirror assy are faulty, the mirror glass will NOT know where/when to stop.
Jaguar issued a TSB for us to properly diagnose the memory systems.
The X300 is similar in function to the X100/X308

My '95 XJ did crazy things with the seat and mirror memory that I could not figure out. Some smart guy recommended that I replace the driver's seat module with one from the passenger side. I did just that and the craziness stopped. I'm the only driver and I don't have to adjust anything.
