Default ole girl needs work

Hello all!
I have an old car for a project its a 94 Jaguar xj6
My Father in law gave up on it now its in my hands to either fix it or sell it
I dont want to give up right away
Got two codes
p0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch 'A' Circuit Low Input
P0177 Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

Does anyone know where I can start.
Thanks
Chris

I would start by clearing the codes then doing a hard reset.

Then see if the codes come back, if they do check the various connections for corrosion and tightness.

Chris:
Just to clarify, what car are we talking about? This is the forum for X-300. That is MY '95 through '97 in the US. Your "facts" don't give a location, so it is somewhat ambiguous since in the UK, MY 94 can refer to an X300 also.
The codes you gave do not have the descriptions you gave FOR THIS CAR.
P122 is just "low TPS value", and P177 is "Adaptive fuel metering trim too rich"

I agree with Mikesmith's advice, but if they return you will probably need to look at replacing the TPS. They are not cheap,($200-$300) but they are available. Since there are no adjustment screws, setup is a bit tricky and is best done with the dealer level software.
