Default Pulley installed

Today I had my Powerhouse lower pulley installed. It was quite easy. Just took an hour. I can notice the difference, low end is better. Next project is Andy's bracket and 3.58 rear end.

Good move!
I’d recommend replacing the hella electric inter cooler water pump with a modern Bosch unit, if you haven’t already.

Do you have a part number for the Bosch pump you recommend?

Note different plug - buy a pump that includes this
Here’s an old thread about the pump
you may need a different plug - google for one with the extra plug included
the old bracket will be too small

a couple of photos - sorry for blurry part number - too close to focus properly

When you say notice, do you mean: whoa that makes a big difference! Or: Huh, that's where my 300 bucks went, that's ok I guess

In between 😁. Impossible to say whoa for now. But this mod will be topped by port polish, intercooler pump and filter kit. I believe it will be "whoa" after all these mods.

I see. Head work. Yikes.

I'm going to be installing my xjr engine with 5spd into a 78 series 2. Slightly lighter car. Only ever driven my xjr with the auto box as it was.

Just wondering if the pulley worth it. I was thinking the stick conversion, pulley and the bracket should all be enough especially with the much less restrictive exhaust I can now run in a 78 as the vehicle has less stringent emissions.

Gotta get started though. Might take years. We shall see.

Cheers

Sorry everyone, this post is getting a bit off the original topic.

Scuby,
I have written the following comments so many time on posts describing similar projects to the one that you are planning. Apologies, if we have already had this "conversation"

If you are putting an AJ16 engine into a non-X300 (eg 78MY Seires 2 XJ6) then you will need to disable the engine immobiliser software, and probably stop the engine ECU going into default mode, if it used to be installed in an automatic XJR6. I can reprogramme your ECU to overcome these issues. Alternatively, you can fit an aftermarket ECU. However, I suspect that the cost of the aftermarket ECU, customer made harness and time spent mapping the ECU on a rolling road will be more expensive. After that, the driveability of the car with an aftermarket ECU, is unlikely to match the standard OEM engine ECU.

You are right. Sorry for getting off topic.

Can you pm me to discuss my setup? I had planned for what you've mebtioned but your ability flash the ecu sounds more promising.

Sorry OP.
