Hi guys,

I just posted this question in the X300 section, but as it may be specific to Aus / NZ I'll ask here as well. I just need to know if the X300 came with a radio security code in our market. The handbook refers to it, but in brackets it says "UK / Europe". I believe the US spec. doesn't have them, but does ours? I'm afraid to disconnect the battery in case I kill the radio as I have no code details to get it up again.

Although it was generally assumed only UK radios were coded, we've had several reports on the forum of coded radios turning up on US spec vehicles.

There's the chance that even if Aus / NZ spec is for non-coded, some may actually be coded.

Thanks Graham. Sounds like a real game of chance then! Unless there is some way of telling if the individual unit is coded before finding out the hard way.

 

Unfortunately there isn't.

This is a regular issue for members in the UK. Over here, Jaguar Dealers usually give out the radio code free of charge against the VIN on showing proof of ownership.

It's got to be worth asking your local Dealer.
