Smile Radio Turned off While Driving

Hey I was just driving my 1995 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas and the radio turned off all of a sudden on it's own. I was thinking about buying a new one anyway - but now the antenna is stuck up? The stereo in the dash is making quiet clicking and squealing noises and the cd player in the trunk is making a clicking noise as well (EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS POWERED OFF). None of the buttons on the stereo do anything.

Any suggestions on what it could be? or How I could get the antenna down without damaging it?

Thanks a lot!

I tried to get the best pictures I could, but I have a Canon DSLR so it was hard to get it in there, plus the unit itself would only come out so far.

Update:

If anybody was curious. I disconnected the 'cluster' of speaker wires which also powers the unit I guess since the clicking stopped and the antenna went down. I plugged it back in and BAM the radio worked!

Another case of 're-booting' proving successful!
Although the original radios blend in superbly, their 'performance' does leave something to be desired.
By the way, is that a connection lead for a cd changer?
Finally, I see the clock appears to be working. A rare thing indeed!

I had this same problem with my original radio and cd changer...it had nothing to do with the wiring it was the radio itself messing up. Replaced with an aftermarket unit and trunk mounted amplifier and haven't had an issue since...except for a slight whine from my alternator regardless that I ran the power and signal cables away from each other. I shouldnt have cheaped out on the amp! haha
