Default Repainting letters on coil cover and supercharger housing

This seems a silly question but would like to know if there are any smart ideas repainting the embossed letters nicely. Tried using permanent marker before but the effect is not that good. Heat resistant paint is a must but I lack the artistic skills to do it.

If you want silver, just sand very lightly and carefully with a very fine grit.

If some other color, I'd spray the cover, mask the letters, and then re-spray the cover.
Much harder to mask "around" the letters.

Or, given how the letters are raised, you could probably paint it with a very stiff foam roller and not have to mask it off.

That was my eventual plan, something like a rubber ink roller to apply the paint to the raised letters.

Too bad the coil cover isn't aluminum like the intake duct, as you could take a sander and make the letters a brushed aluminum finish.

Maybe I can just cover the surrounding of the raised letters with clay mask, or cover the entire area with self-adhesive and elastic plastic sheet (like michaelmedina2005 did) and then cut the raised letters out, and then spray, or just simply wrap the letters? Hope the right heat-resistant material and tools are available.

I used a paint pen (edding 750 - A paint marker with a good heat resistance - edding.com) on the raised lettering of my supercharger over a year ago and it has held up quite well.

the material on the letters bubbled, from the engine bay heat,i had even installed 1800 degree lava wrap underneath,so i cut it away,to show the red lettering, hopefully problem solved

One idea would be to use frisket, or masking fluid, brushed onto the background area around the letters and allowed to dry. After spray-painting the letters, just peel away the frisket:

Meant to say when the paint is dry you can wipe away the grease.

One of Admin JimC64's sons did a great job repainting the lettering on the covers of his X-Type.

I can't find a post with photos and details of the technique so I've sent Jim a PM about this thread.

Both were done using Ferrari Red high temp resistant caliper paint
A small tin off Ebay was only around £6 iirc

There was no real secret or tips n tricks, just a little time, a small brush and a steady hand for pretty good results which have held up very well, as good as the day they were done

Does anyone know of a source for the Jaguar decal? Have tried many suppliers (incl. Welch which stated in stock) to no avail.
Eric.
