Default Replacing a Headlight Assembly & Plugs?

Recently, I woke up one morning and noticed that the driver-side headlight housing was missing. I am going to assume it was stolen due to all the plugs being stripped or broken. I was wondering where can I get a new one and how easy/hard would it be to install?

Here is a picture of the light. Any info on how I can fix this would be greatly appreciated! The whole look of the car is just thrown off by not having this light and its housing!

Sorry to hear that! ...why would someone want to steal a headlight, a single headlight? Weird!

Shouldn't be a problem to find a salvage ring online, and the short harness between the lights and main harness are also commonly on eBay for cheap.

Good luck!

Default headlight replacement

Hi Stagnent, we recently had to replace our drivers side headlight unit as well. Looks like your plastic "base" that holds the headlight and ring is broken. We had to loosen the two drivers side mesh grill bolts ( ours is a XJR ), to have access to to trim cover screws for the piece that sits underneath both headlamps. Once that plastic piece is removed you will have access to the bottom two nuts that hold the plastic base ( it holds both high and low beam lamps. There are a total of four, the top two are removed with the hood up from inside the engine compartment. Pretty straightforward, the lamps plug onto support lugs with rounded ends. Just go slow and be careful when popping lamps on and off of lugs.
We were able to find a used base for 39.95 plus shpping on Ebay, but they ranged up to 129.99 that week. Lamps and rings can be spendy depending on which type you have, also many usually on Ebay. I have a spare but it is for the other side, would not work for you. Make sure you order the correct side, they are mirror images of each other and don't interchange. Good Luck!

Stagent if you pm me I was cleaning my garage I had done an x308 headlight upgrade and have a couple of chrome rings. The headlights while they worked are probably only useable for parts
