Does anyone know if the driver's seatbelt Buckle of a 1998 Jaguar xj8 fit on a 97 Jaguar x300?

Found one on eBay and is half the price of 95-97.

No, it will not fit. The latch is different.

What's wrong with your current buckle? The shell can be pried apart to repair the spring mechanism.

 

I'll second that.

Had issue with mine, separated it and the spring had dislodged from its little seat. Put it back in place, taped it up, works fine now.

I had same issue trying to find a used one but thanks to advice on here, it was unnecessary anyway!

 

The plastic cover was completely deteriorated from sitting out in the sun. So a replacement was needed. I ended up finding one on eBay for $100. 😒 Owell

 

Hi - thats a shame. In my case it had been badly glued together before so came apart with a slight prod of a screw driver! Looked like superglue or something around the casing. I was told not to tape it together but I was in a hurry so its cream with black electrical tape!!

$100 not the end of the world, its least hopefully you got one in nice condition.
